UNSHUFFLE FOR KIDS

Privacy Policy

Your pictures and saved progress stay on your device. No accounts, advertising, or tracking across apps. Minimal error reports are sent to Microsoft Azure; parents can turn off optional usage sharing.

Effective date: 17 October 2026

Unshuffle for Kids is a picture-puzzle game for children and families, published by Ship to Store, based in Puducherry, India. This policy describes the Kids app and this privacy-policy webpage, not the original Unshuffle app.

At a glance

  • No accounts, advertising, in-app purchases, or advertising identifiers.
  • No sale of personal information or sharing for targeted advertising.
  • Custom pictures, their names, categories, history, and best scores are not uploaded.
  • Puzzles can be played without an Internet connection.
  • Basic error diagnostics are always enabled; optional usage sharing is enabled by default.

Some diagnostic and usage information does leave the device, as explained below. We do not describe these network transmissions as completely anonymous.

Pictures and information kept on your device

The app stores puzzle caches, play history, best scores, and preferences in its local app storage. Gallery labels such as New, Played, and Solved use this local history.

Parents may import local JPEG or PNG pictures through parent settings. Adding pictures makes local copies; it is not an upload. The app saves a re-encoded square crop without the source file's metadata. Custom picture names, category names, filenames, paths, picture contents, and local profile identifiers are not included in telemetry.

Deleting a custom picture or category removes the app's picture copies and their puzzle caches, not the original files. Local score history may remain. Resetting or uninstalling the app removes its app-local data according to Windows application-data behavior.

Basic error diagnostics: always enabled

When the app reports an unexpected error, it sends a minimal report to Microsoft Azure Application Insights to help us find and fix failures. Reports contain the exception type, numeric error code, app version, timestamp, and a label identifying Unshuffle for Kids.

Reports exclude the original exception message, original stack trace, file paths, exception attachments, user names, account identifiers, device identifiers, and session identifiers.

Basic diagnostics cannot be turned off within the app. Delivery is best effort and requires connectivity; an abrupt crash or lack of network access may prevent a report from arriving.

Optional usage sharing: enabled by default

Optional usage reports help us understand aggregate use of the game. They record app starts, puzzles started and solved, hints shown, and successful custom-picture imports. Solved-puzzle reports include moves, elapsed duration, hint count, and whether a hint was used.

Reports may include bundled picture identifiers, titles, and categories. Custom pictures are labeled generically as Custom: their names, categories, contents, metadata, and individual picture identifiers are not sent. Reports include timestamps, the app version, and an app-variant label, but no persistent player or cross-app identifiers.

To stop new usage reports, open the gear icon, answer the math challenge, and turn off Share usage data. Basic diagnostics remain enabled. Buffered or in-flight reports may still arrive; switching usage sharing off does not delete reports already received.

Children and parent controls

The app does not ask children to create an account or provide their name, age, email address, or contact information. It does not use telemetry to contact children, build player profiles, or serve advertising.

Parent settings contain picture-management and usage-sharing controls. The math challenge is an access barrier, not verification of parental identity or a verifiable parental-consent process.

A parent or guardian may contact us with questions or privacy-related requests. Please do not send a child's pictures or other unnecessary identifying information.

Processing, service providers, and security

Minimal app reports are sent over HTTPS to Microsoft Azure Application Insights and stored in Log Analytics. The original Unshuffle app uses the same resource; a separate app label distinguishes Kids reports. The Kids app does not send the original app's user or account identifiers.

The app substitutes 0.0.0.0 for the telemetry report's client-IP field. Azure still receives a network IP address when handling a connection, as online services generally do. This is why we do not promise that nothing leaves the device or that transmissions are anonymous.

Reports are used for app reliability and aggregate usage analysis, not tracking across apps or services. The app uses an in-memory telemetry buffer, not a disk-backed offline queue.

Microsoft provides the Azure hosting and telemetry services. Its applicable privacy terms also govern its service processing. Microsoft services may process information in countries where they operate. Restricted report fields and encrypted transport reduce exposure, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Retention, deletion, and privacy requests

The Azure Log Analytics tables holding app usage events and error reports are currently configured for 365 days of retention. Records age out under Azure's retention and deletion processes. This period is controlled by the shared cloud workspace, not the app's usage-sharing switch.

Turning off usage sharing, deleting local pictures, resetting the app, or uninstalling it does not delete reports already received. Because the app does not attach an account or persistent player identifier, we may not be able to identify which reports belong to a particular player.

Contact us to request information, access, or deletion under applicable privacy law. We will assess what can be located and acted on and explain any limitations. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you provide; we use that correspondence to respond and keep it only as needed to handle the request and meet legal obligations.

This privacy-policy webpage

Visiting this page or loading its resources may generate Azure Functions and Application Insights operational logs, including the requested URL, timestamp, response status, request duration, IP or network metadata, and request-header information such as the user agent where provided. The website's request, trace, and exception tables are currently configured for 365 days of retention.

This page has no advertising trackers, marketing cookies, client-side analytics scripts, or information-collection forms. Website operational logging is separate from the app's optional usage-sharing setting.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, website, data practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised when material changes are published.
